Electric Field Lines in a Rectangular Waveguide with Inhomogeneous Anisotropic Insertion

The distribution of electromagnetic field lines in the cross-section of a rectangular waveguide possessing an inhomogeneous insertion which is characterized by an anisotropy of both electrical and magnetic properties simultaneously is considered. The Maxwell equations for an arbitrary anisotropic medium in the presence of the waveguide or resonator bounding walls has been digitized by the finite-difference method. The system of linear algebraic equations for electric field components in an inhomogeneous anisotropic medium has been obtained and the system solution found by the conjugate gradient method. The calculation of electric field lines in the cross-section of an anisotropic insertion of a rectangular waveguide is presented.
