The oretical Model and Experimental Detection of Resonant Output in Free Electron Laser

Working test free electron laser with uniform guide magnetic field is built. We put forward a theoretical model, which allows us to treat a number of features of the above mentioned device. The possibility, in principle, of resonant enhancement of output signal for non-relativistic and low energy relativistic beams is shown. Conditions of resonance, which connect the initial velocity of electrons and the value of uniform guide field, are derived analytically. Analytical results are compared with numerical simulations of modeling the electron trajectories and a satisfactory agreement is observed. Preliminary results of experiments are presented. The set of resonances in the integral power of emitted radiation, which had been predicted by our theory, is found in the experiments.
